Sue Bentley

Sue Bentley first got involved as a leader with the canoe program in 1984 and has been an enthusiastic supporter and participant ever since, although she took a 13 year sabbatical to go to seminary and have three children. She is married to Michael and lives in Salem, VA with Sarah, Alex, Matthew and a variety of reptiles and amphibians, rodents, and a loyal Golden Retriever, Luke. Sue is the Rector of St. James Episcopal Church, Roanoke, Virginia. She has served as the registrar for the canoe program as well as a river leader. Sue is committed to the River Adventure Program because she wants to provide an opportunity for youth to experience God immersed in the beauty of God’s creation, and to become a part of a small Christian community that depends on each other. She also appreciates the opportunity to enjoy the peace.
